Black Beauty Eggplant –┬áSolanum melongena

This heirloom is one of our favorite varieties for its firm flesh that turns creamy and meaty when cooked, with great flavor. Big fruits grow to 7″ long and 4″ wide. They take a second to come on, but they’re well worth the wait! 60-70 days from transplant.

Directions: Start indoors 6-8 weeks before last frost. Seed 1/4″ deep; provide bottom heat if possible. Space two feet apart in the garden after last frost.

Seed grown by Morning Owl Farm in Boise, Idaho.
