TEPARY BEANS ARE AMAZING! Extremely fast-growing and drought-tolerant bean from the Southwest.
These remarkable dry beans are ideal for small-scale, subsistence agriculture, yielding large amounts of delicious and nutritious beans in a very short time period. Easy to harvest, thresh, and winnow, even by hand. A semi-vining type that acts more like a bush, growing to about 2′ tall with lacy foliage. Extremely drought-tolerant, having evolved to mature quickly after summer monsoons in the desert southwest. Tolerant of alkaline soils. Doesn’t like heavy clay. Beans are naturally resistant to bean mosaic virus. One of the most promising varieties we carry for a bioregional, resilient agricultural system.
85 days to maturity.
