Wyeth’s buckwheat, or Parsnipflower buckwheat is often used in seed mixes for restoration projects involving native species and the regeneration of sagebrush steppe and mountain foothills. This variety helps in attracting insects which are a major food source for sage grouse. (Source: USDA - NRCS - Parsnipflower Buckwheat)

This native species can be found anywhere from British Columbia to Utah and Nevada.

Note: This seed contains chaff as is standard for the variety. Please see the second image to see the chaff included with seed.

Seeds were sustainably wildcrafted in Twisp, Washington by Twisp River Seed.

Directions: Direct sow seeds on soil surface in fall or in very early Spring. This seed responds well to a stratification period, either outdoors or in damp sand in the refrigerator, for at least 3 months. However, this species germinates more easily than most and will often do well so long as there is moisture available at time of sowing.
