Why plant flower seeds in the fall?

Many native flowers require a period of cold stratification in order to break dormancy and germinate after winter. These native seeds are well-adapted to our region, and they are waiting for the exact right moment to germinate in the spring! For many of these flowers, we've included the USDA plant guide within the description so you can read more about successfully growing them.
