The Obedient Plant, otherwise known as the False Dragonhead or the Virginia Lions-heart, is known for their flexible stems which are capable of staying bent for a short amount of time. This plant can be found growing all throughout North America. While its species name, "virginiana", specifies Virginia, it is able to thrive in a variety of climates and conditions. It is a favorite to a variety of pollinators including both hummingbirds and butterflies! Blooms late Summer to early Fall. It will self-seed without regular dead-heading.

Directions: Direct seed just below surface of soil in Fall. Alternatively, mix seeds in damp sand and keep in refrigerator for 60-90 days before planting outdoors in Spring. Keep soil moist. Learn more: cold stratification.
