Description
Lactuca sativa
Eeee! Layers of perfectly green tender leaves snuggle sweetly inside each other.
This lovely butterhead found its way into our gardens because of long-time Idaho Statesman garden columnist Margaret Lauterbach, but it will remain indefinitely, enjoying the impressive distinction as the loveliest, most reliable green butterhead we’ve ever grown. Tender kelly green heads size up nicely and hold for an admirable period before bolting.
Seeds grown by Earthly Delights Farm in Boise, Idaho.
200 seeds.
Directions: Direct seed in fall or spring. You can start indoors in early spring and transplant outdoors after 4-6 weeks. Thin to 12" spacing for heads. For cut-and-come-again greens, use 3" spacing.
