Description
Vicia faba
Delicious, tender spring treat, and an excellent nitrogen-fixing cover crop.
This underappreciated crop fills multiple unique niches in the garden. Their young pods can be shelled and the tender beans inside enjoyed as a spring delicacy. They can also be used as a moderately cold-hardy cover crop for spring or early fall planting, adding nitrogen to the soil for future crops. 3’ tall plants are sturdy & abundant & so danged satisfying to grow.
Seeds grown by Swift River Farm in Salmon, Idaho. ISDA green tag is available upon request.
