Description
Lactuca sativa
A beautiful, juicy, crisp, and sweet garden gem.
Pan Lettuce is densely-hearted (like cabbage) and performs well with 9" spacing. According to Frank, it also has good downy mildew resistance and is slow to bolt. Ideal for areas with cooler, wetter springs, such as Western Montana and Northern Idaho. Farmer David Lau of Titbout's Seeds harvested into mid July and reports a sweet taste and great texture!
Who would expect this delightful green lettuce would emerge from a cross between two deep red lettuces?! Bred by Frank Morton and released as an OSSI pledged variety in 2021.
Seeds grown by Titbout’s Seeds in Missoula, Montana.
200 seeds.
Directions: Direct seed in fall or spring. You can start indoors in early spring and transplant outdoors after 4-6 weeks. Thin to 9" spacing for heads. For cut-and-come-again greens, use 3" spacing. Plant in mid-August for a fall harvest.
