Heat-tolerant nutritional powerhouse!

Great heirloom cabbage from 1889 that grows quite large for a purple cabbage, 5-7 lb heads. Deep purple, crispy interior with a mild sweet flavor. Great for fresh eating, stir-fries, slaws or sauerkraut. Open-pollinated.

Seeds grown by Giving Ground Farm in Pocatello, ID.

60 seeds

Directions: Start indoors early spring and transplant out ASAP for a summer harvest. For a fall crop, start indoors in late May and transplant ASAP. Plants will grow voluptuous and large, and then head up as the nights get cooler. Cabbage generally prefers cool growing temperatures, though this variety is somewhat heat-tolerant.
