Citrullus lanatus
Webstore Exclusive.
Sunrise Watermelon is known to have a sweet orange/yellow flesh and a unique presence. It comes with a thicker rind which aids in longer storage. Steve Paulson of Sunnside Vine Farm said it can easily keep into the middle of October if not longer when refrigerated. They will produce a hefty amount of seeds and can overwinter/volunteer the following Spring.
Harvest tips from Steve Paulson;
"To harvest, wait until the closest tendril to the melon is dried. This melon needs about 90 days of hot weather to mature."
This is an heirloom variety!
