Description
Solanum lycopersicum
Reliable, prolific, early, and tasty!
A staple in the garden of Snake River Seeds' Inventory Manager, Reiley Carney. These plants produce reliably and prolifically even in the "bad" tomato years. As the name suggests, Principe Borghese originates from Italy where they are best known for their use as sun-dried tomatoes. Their flavor is slightly more savory than sweet. Reiley uses them for salsa, sauces, salads, and fresh snacking. Harvest a whole cluster when more than half the fruits are red and watch the others mature on your counter or windowsill.
Seeds grown by Reiley and Nick Carney in Boise, Idaho.
30 seeds.
Directions: Start indoors 6-8 weeks before last frost and transplant out after. Bury past first set of leaves, add eggshells to soil for calcium, and provide support.
