Description
Daucus carota
Gorgeous purple-red skins with brilliant orange cores. A real looker!
Bred by famed organic plant breeder John Navazio, this stunning carrot makes roots ranging from deep purple to bright red, with striking orange cores. Sensational, nearly psychedelic when cut crosswise, with a sweet, slightly spicy flavor. Tops are daintier than some varieties, so be sure to lift them out of their beds with a shovel or digging fork.
Seed grown by Purple Sage Farm in Middleton, Idaho and Twisp River Seed in Twisp, Washington.
250 seeds.
Directions: Direct seed outdoors in Spring as soon as soil can be worked. Thin to 2" spacing between plants, and give 12" spacing between rows. Plant in midsummer for fall or winter harvest.
