Early Jersey Wakefield has a captivating and long history in the U.S.! First grown by Francis Brill of Jersey City, New Jersey, the variety originated from the English cabbage "Early Wakefield". According to Seed Savers Exchange's research, this cabbage was the talk of the town in the 1860's! It's known for a compact growth habit which makes it easy to grow in smaller gardens. This cabbage averages 2 to 4 pounds each.
