Mizspoona

Succulent, mild mustard green that holds up to the frying pan and the salad bowl!

We started with the Salad Select gene pool, bred by plant breeder Frank Morton of Wild Garden Seed in Philomath, Oregon. Frank crossed mizuna and tatsoi to get what he calls mizspoona. In our experience, mizspoona handles our high desert conditions better than both of its parents, and we've been selecting for slower bolting plants for several generations now.  

One of our favorite mild mustards for its crisp, thick, pointed leaves and lush but not overpowering flavor. Slow-bolting, lasting into the heat of early summer.  Open-pollinated.

Directions: For small, cut-and-come-again greens, direct seed in spring and fall into 2" wide bands. Use 6" spacing for larger leaves.
