Description

Nigella sativa

Nigella sativa, otherwise known as black caraway, black seed nigella, black cumin or kalongi, is a low growing plant composed of multiple florets per stalk. The flowers are beautiful and uniquely blue-hued. Nigella originated in the Mediterranean, the Middle East, and Africa where it has traditionally been known as both a spice as well as a herbal medicine. Their black seeds have a lot of flavor and are decorative.
