Nigella sativa
Nigella sativa, otherwise known as black caraway, black seed nigella, black cumin or kalongi, is a low growing plant composed of multiple florets per stalk. The flowers are beautiful and uniquely blue-hued. Nigella originated in the Mediterranean, the Middle East, and Africa where it has traditionally been known as both a spice as well as a herbal medicine. Their black seeds have a lot of flavor and are decorative.

"If harvesting for the seed, let plant go to seed. It will create pods that will dry on the plant. Harvest the pods when fully dried and thrash to remove the seeds."
