Description
Cucumis melo
Sweet, early-ripening, prolific heirloom cantaloupe–a real summer treat!
In our 2014 trials, Emerald Gem was the tastiest of the early-ripening melons, and she also wins prizes for her heavy productivity--sometimes 10-12 fruits per plant--as well as her looks. Pretty fruits turn shades of emerald green as they ripen.
Seeds grown by Affinity Farm in Moscow, Idaho and Sunnyside Vine Farm in Lenore, Idaho.
30 seeds.
Directions: Start indoors in pots 2 weeks before last frost and transplant outside after. Or direct seed after last frost. Harden for a week before transplanting, and water thoroughly after. Muskmelons are ripe when they slip from the vine when you give them a tug.
