Description
Hordeum vulgare
Webstore Exclusive
Hulless, wholesome, and adaptable grain, excellent for the home garden or small farm.
This hulless 6-row barley was a standout in Rocky Mountain Seed Alliance’s heritage grain trials. Hearty grain -- delicious whole or stone-ground for flour. Excellent addition to soups, and makes great cookies!
Fun fact: ‘Three grains of barley, dry and round, placed end to end lengthwise’ was the model to standardize the size of an inch, way back in 1324 AD.
Seeds grown by Winnower Farm in Dry Creek, Idaho and Titbout's Seeds in Missoula, Montana.
200 seeds
Directions: Direct seed in early Spring, in rows 6” apart. Germinates within a week.
Ready for harvest when the hulls around the seeds are dry and tan - towards the end of Summer.
