Sunnyside Vine Farm
Established in 1978 as an organic dry-land subsistence farm, borrowing from the pre-colonized Upper Missouri River Buffalo hunting/corn-beans and squash growing cultures’ philosophy; plant it, cultivate 3 times and go hunt, come back and harvest. Over time, we have incorporated mechanical cultivation, intensive farming techniques, fences, drip irrigation, and expanded our seed-saving storage area significantly. Due to our very rural location, we have never been able to make a profit from marketing vegetables, so growing seeds for SRSC cuts the transportation costs and works well in our operation. We have recently attempted to find a niche market in dry-land grains and pulse crops.
