Description

Phaseolus vulgaris

Quincy Pinto Beans are a dry bean known for their high yield and fantastic flavor. They work well in slow cooked meals! This variety is easy to grow and its plant grows in an upright bush bean habit.

This pinto variety was bred in collaboration with Washington State University and the USDA. According to the USDA (Written by: Jan Suszkiw): "Quincy is the first commercial pinto with this specific combination of genes to completely control the seedborne BCMV and BCMNV spread between plants by aphids." Dry beans are believed to have originated in Central America, before traveling North and South where they have been found as a cultivated crop dating back over 4,000 years ago.
