Description
Lactuca sativa
Popularized by Idaho Statesman garden columnist Margaret Lauterbach!
Indeed, this butterhead found its way into our gardens because of Margaret Lauterbach, who introduced it into the Seed Savers Exchange, and it will stay because of its slow-bolting, tender, kelly green heads that size up nicely and hold in the field, along with its oh-so-sweet flavor. One of our absolute favorite lettuces. Open-pollinated.
