Description

Citrullus lanatus

An Idaho-bred watermelon variety! Prolific and early-maturing--a sweet, sweet treat!

Bred by Glen Drowns in northern Idaho when he was a teenager in the 1970s. A wonderful, sweet, easy-to-grow variety that matures early and ripens 8-12” melons for months through the late summer. Great icebox variety, with a few whoppers! Open-pollinated. OSSI Pledged.

Saving our watermelon seeds is a beloved annual process that involves all our CSA members. Check out our short GROW THIS PLANT! video about it!

Seeds grown by Winnower Farm in Dry Creek, Idaho, Winniford Farm in Rice, Washington and Affinity Farm in Moscow, Idaho.

25 seeds.

Directions: Start indoors in pots 4-5 weeks before last frost and transplant outside after. Or direct seed after last frost. Harden for a week before transplanting, and water thoroughly after. Melons are ripe when they slip from the vine.
