Description
Papaver rhoeas
Bright red poppies waving in the breeze turn a garden into a wonderland!
These cheery, red flowers bloom every year in late spring/early summer and bring a decided air of whimsy to a garden. Bees cover their fuzzy bodies in the copious pollen while onlookers gawk with joy at the spectacle. The decorative seedheads add interest, and seeds can be added to baked goods. These poppies will re-seed each year. Open-pollinated.
Seed grown by City Gardens in Garden City, Idaho and Affinity Farm in Moscow, Idaho.
500 seeds.
Directions: Poppies dislike having their roots disturbed and they prefer cool soil, so it's best to direct sow them in late fall to early spring.
