Setaria italica
A foxtail millet, which are thought to be some of the oldest cultivated types of millet. German Golden produces abundant, nutritious seeds on 4' tall plants with wide, striking leaves and fat, pendulous seedheads. A real looker! Makes great porridge! 100 days.
Directions: Sow after danger of frost and cover with 1/4" soil. Keep moist. Sow thickly for cover crop, or space up to 12" apart. Will gently self-seed. Mild frost tolerant.
