  • Winnow Wizard seed cleaner

Established in 2002 on the northern edge of Moscow, Idaho, Affinity Farm is proud to be certified organic by the State of Idaho. They currently sell veggies at the Moscow Farmer's Market, local restaurants, and wholesale to the Moscow Food Co-op. Each year they have increased the quantity and variety of crops to the Snake River Seed Co-op, and love the intentional action of engaging in a vital and integral regional seedshed. Kelly serves on the board of directors for SRSC! 

Seed School: 
Monday, August 18th & Tuesday, August 19th 9am-5pm
Location: Monday at Palouse-Clearwater Environmental Institute in Moscow
Tuesday: All day farm tours! Transportation provided! Itinerary below

Whether you’re looking to increase your own self-sufficiency or to add seed production to your market garden or farm offerings, there has never been a better time to relearn this vital part of our agricultural heritage.  

The two-day Seed School will cover a range of basics to grow high-quality organic seeds, including:
  • Seed biology
  • Flowers and pollination
  • Growing seeds
  • Harvesting and processing seeds
  • Seed storage
  • Seed literacy
  • Wild seed harvesting
  • Organic weed, pest, and disease control in seed crops
  • Adding seed production to your market garden or farm
  • Selection and on-farm crop improvement
  • Opportunities for selling your seeds 
Monday's lunch catered by Chef BunBun's and featuring local ingredients

Tuesday will feature visits to the following locations:
  • Flansburg Farm, Palouse WA
  • USDA-NRCS Plant Materials Center, Pullman WA
  • USDA-ARS Germplasm Repository, Pullman WA
  • LUNCH at Barm & Wallops, featuring Don Scheuerman, Palouse Heritage Grain Project
  • Thorn Creek Native Seeds, Genessee, Idaho
