An ancient Siberian Rye.
Acquired by Sepp Holzer in 1957 for use on his permaculture farm in the Austrian Alps. He continuously selected for growth, vigor, and disease/pest resistance for more than 60 years before this seed made its way to North America. Vigorous 6' tall plants can be used as an overwinter cover crop, cereal grain, or for grazing livestock.
Seeds grown by Reditus Natural Farming in Ferdinand, Idaho.

Directions: Direct seed in August through the beginning of October. Plants will be ready for harvest around July the following year. For larger plots, broadcast seed by hand onto well-prepared soil. Try for a coverage of approximately 6-10 seeds per square foot. Then rake to cover the seed.
