Celebrate Sonshine Acres with this collection of seeds they have stewarded on their farm!
Eaters everywhere are connecting with farmers through purchasing locally-grown food from farmer's markets. At SRSC, we want to extend that same important connection to the seeds which grow our food! Our main mission is to engage Intermountain West farmers to grow and adapt seeds for our bioregion.
Thank you for showing our growers you care about locally-grown seeds! Click here to view a full list of our growers.
Sonshine Acres is a homestead-style ranch located in the Valley of Plenty, Emmett Idaho. We grow market gardens for retail as well as producing for our own household and animals. Since we raise our own animals, we produce our own manure-based compost on-site, allowing us control over how our crops are raised. Ted has completed the Veteran farming program, “Harvest Heroes” through the University of Idaho as well as the “Armed to Farm” national veteran farming program. We have a ministry aspect by providing “Blessing Baskets” to those in need when able. We consider our crops to be of “artisan quality,” paying close attention to very specific varieties and have won numerous ribbons in both local and state level fairs. Ted is also a member of the Idaho Farmer Veteran Coalition and is even certified as “Homegrown by Heroes”!
