Excellent early and prolific paste tomato bred in Montana!
A superb, early paste tomato bred by Montana grower Doug Beaty. These plants crank out oodles of medium-sized, 3" bright red paste tomatoes that resist blossom end rot. Fruit shape has some variance. Very prolific and flavorful variety. Determinate and open-pollinated.
Tomatoes are native to northwestern South America and by at least 500 BC they had been domesticated and were being cultivated as far north as modern-day Mexico, enjoyed by Aztec and other civilizations. They spread to Europe and the Caribbean through the Spanish colonizers, where they became staple parts of the food culture in many European countries as well. Their circuitous journey has brought them back to the United States, where Beaty continued their evolution.
